This detour is an easy walk that does not require much climbing and takes you to the highest point of the Cammino, Mount Valinis.

From Forchia di Meduno, a 450-metre climb takes you through woods rich in colour and charm, especially in late spring and autumn.

When you reach the top of the mountain, you will immediately see the launch site for hang gliders and paragliders, who come from neighbouring Austria and other countries to take advantage of the unique updrafts. While you enjoy the spectacle of those who fly and float in the air, the Friulian plain stretches out below you, where you can view the Meduna and Tagliamento riverbeds, and the horizon opens up to the Gulf of Trieste and beyond.
