Instead of going on to Anduins, from Vito d’Asio you can go down to the plain on a different path, following the mountain and passing through the half-abandoned hamlet of Celante di Vito d’Asio, that not so long ago was known as the “orchard of Friuli”, once a rich area of fruit and vegetable production, much appreciated throughout the plain, and now a dense woodland, especially in summer.
Past this reforested area you reach the village of Manazzons and from there, following the Pontaiba stream, you descend to the hamlet of the same name. Here, both the Arzino stream, with its emerald and turquoise pools, and the Tagliamento, the last wild river in Europe, welcome you.
