Typical family-run trattoria. Codfish is our signature dish because here at the trattoria “Agli Amici” it is the dish that has always been made. As far back as the 1930s, the first De Rosa management had a small grocery store with a banquet for the pouring of wine and liquor, and on Fridays, the day of the lean season, a small table was placed where they sold stockfish already soaked, by the slice; during Lent and especially on Ash Wednesday, they also saw herring, “poor” fish that arrived in barrels preserved in salt. Today at the “Agli Amici” trattoria, salt cod is made in three ways: traditional “Vicenza-style” salt cod, baccalà mantecato, and baccalà lesso.
